There is, but it's not something I have ever used or felt that I needed to.
I know that this is going to sound poncy, but, it's something that goes with the job. This isn't something uncommon. It just each time it happens it makes you think, it's only human nature i suppose. In a way I don't want to get 'used' to it.
This isn't the first time, and i'm sure it won't be the last. |

Mrs Mouse recieved a NIP from Kent police last week for speeding on the Monday (44 in a 30 ). She told me that on that Monday she had gone into Dartford in the morning to do some shopping, she remembers driving past a Kent mobile camera van on the way back home.
I noticed that the location on the NIP was for a road not on the way to or from Dartford so I asked her why she had taken that route. After getting her to show me her exact route there and back on the map and telling me exactly where she saw the camera van it was obvious that Kent had got the location completely wrong. JACKPOT
So, , I had everything planned, on the 14th day we were going to send a request to view the photos recorded delievery on the pretence to aid identity, however the real reason would be to confirm the location of the van. Next step, inform Kent that the location on the NIP was incorrect that therefore they have failed in there resposibilities under sec 1(C) of the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988. And also tell them that as 14 days had passed since the day of the offence they can't send out a new NIP. And now that I would have got her off with the 3 points there would hopefully have been a nice reward for me
BUT, we have now recieved a letter from Kent saying 'sorry, we gave you the wrong location, please disregard the NIP and here's a new one with all the right details on it
Some Fcukwit has obviously phoned Kent and told them of there mistake way before the 14 days have gone , Kent have said thank you very much, have a new NIP on us and then sent out new NIP's to everyone caught by the van that day

Aye... better still the nice people who invent front facing camera's that are blatantly designed to identify the driver... then when they or I can't identify the driver I get a summons and face 6 points for failing to ID the driver ffs... designed to make you incriminate yourself for an offence you did not necessarily commit. _________________

I could never condone such an action. As its a mobile van, chances are, it won't be there now anyway, just worth keeping them peeled for, especially if I have time for a breakdown in the van _________________ Its better to regret something you did rather than something you didnt do... |

Had a bit of play on one of the bearings of the suspension linkage on the bandit. Decided to remove all 4 of the bearings while I had it in bits, then went to find pattern bearings on the net. Turns out they aren't quite standard size, so had to order from suzuki. While I was at it I ordered new spacers as they were slightly worn. Cost me £90, wish I'd only removed the worn bearing now ! _________________ It's all down to quality of life ! |

I bought a birthday card for one of my colleagues who's birthday was today. I left it in the office for a colleague to sign as i was going to be out of the office until today. Today I looked everywhere for the card and when I eventually told the person who's birthday it was that I had a card for him but it had gone missing he told me that the person who it was left for to sign had given it to him the night before when they all went out for a drink. How rude not to even ask me if it was okay to give my card to the recipeint!! |
