Yup really unusual..... I broke mine skiing (what haven't I broken skiing) Embarrassed pretty common amongst snowboarders and is usually caused by downward stress forces, so I can only assume it must have been done hitting the road or some obstacle.

Uncomfortable but he should still be able to get around unless it's really smashed up...
