Prompted by my son's graceful departure from these shores, I am also bidding you all a fond farewell.
Living 250 miles away and not having a two-wheeled velocipede any longer means my time here has come to an end.
If you ever venture up to Oulton Park, give me a shout.

I have much to blame on you.
I own a Pan European, for which I hold you soley responsible . You said to me a while back "they get under your skin"... - true dat
Thanks for the awesome introduction to euro-touring, I've not looked back since the "French Tickler", for that and everything else, I am truly grateful.
All the best chap, you got my number...
P.S. You're still a cnut _________________

Who was responsible for the 2009 multi-sex day? Was that you? If so then you are single-handedly responsible for my continued pursuit, albeit failing, of the ability to ride a motorcycle both correctly and well. Damn you!

To such a lovely person who I had a lot of respect for and did some fantastic bike training days from ours you certainly did make me laugh at times. We hope to follow in your footsteps in the future when we aim to get a camper van as well
Best wishes and take care of yourself xx _________________ Ciao Marco, you will be missed :-( xx |

WOT SHE SAID
It's a big shame that a lot of peeps on this forum don't realise how much good you did in educating new riders to advanced techniques and leading many a rideout or tour with near perfect lines (apart from one certain bend).
Going to miss your uncompromising attitude and will give you a call when we either head north or eventually get a camper van. _________________ Boxhill Chippendales

Wow, we got rid of the two of them in the space of a few hours.
Thank you for being a friend, and thank you even more for allowing me to enjoy one of the best experiences of my life. No, not the wonderful night in the double bed we shared, but French Tickler 1 in 2006. What a ride . French Tickler 2 wasn't quite as good for obvious reasons, but still up there with the best.
Keep safe WD, and maybe I will see you on an Oulton Park trip one day. _________________ So many roads, so little time. |

Always enjoyed your posts. Had some really great runs both together and with Andy, Jimbo and a hard core of others. I have been on plenty of runs in Europe but always regret I never committed to a Tickler Run. Your knowledge of Europe and the best roads to ride will be missed here.
Your voluntary mentoring of others less proficient was both commendable and selfless. Your ability to make a 20 odd year old motorbike "hustle" still makes me smile when I see "Power Rangers" on their modern bikes
I had the dubious privelege of being behind you when you had your excursion into the undergrowth and hold you wholly responsible by proxy for the writing off of my silver ZZR1400 I normally like to write them off myself Even that turned out to be a result - got all my money back I paid for the bike after having had it for eighteen months anf 10k miles.
I have a feeling with current changes in attitude (some ridiculous some not) to speed both here and in Europe that we are coming to an end of the golden era of motorcycling - maybe a year or so away yet - maybe what Andy senses as well?
Good luck to you and yours for the future - may see you at a Caravan Site sometime - yes I too have a Caravan!! - there I've "come out".
