If anything you wanted 'could' be done (and I'm not saying it can) what would you like to see on the forum in terms of new sections, ideas that would attract new people to stay? , or anything that comes to mind, PM or stick it on this thread. Fanks
*warning* don't bother with petty sarcasm or being a smartass I'll just delete it, I'm looking for positive ideas NB: this is not forum owner sanctioned just me hunting for ideas... _________________ The Resident Forum Ghost |

i think the return of a set night for meeting up for a natter etc would go a way to bringing folk together and would probably give birth to even more ideas.
however i think the venue needs to be more central as the members are quite diverse in thier locations ...not be a gastronomic emporium where one has to be marcus pierre white and comment on the quality of the Foie Gras or one requires the wallet of richard branson for a plate of chips....for the older members im refering to "the mucky duck" style of venue be found.
also that the venue be one that The Management" ( admins , moderators etc" have sat down, talked about and vetted and once decided have set as the weekly meet for BHF members.
Granted not everyone will be able to make it , im personally governed by working hours so probably ruled out most weeks but ...it used to work ....and if its not broken dont fix it ..which is what people tried to do......now it is broken....and requires extensive surgery and some managment.
Get that up and running and then you can cut out the online debates and misinterpritations and have real time head to head discussions.

Good idea Pete, but I also find it difficult to make a mid-week meet for a natter. I would rather spend my time riding my bike as I do on my Wednesday evening runs. We always have a natter at the end of these, and, as attendees know, I usually make a route up on the night and try to return to a reasonably central location according to who is there.
Speaking of which I shall start these up again soon. Roll on summer. _________________ So many roads, so little time. |

i whole heartedly support your midweek rides and know your passion to be riding the bike rather talking about it but who says it has to be a wednesday ....in fact why a school night at all...why not a friday night as a wind down to the week ...? in fact during the cooler months what dictates you need to arrive on a bike...im just suggesting a dedicated nioght for a bit of social each week
ill leave it in the hands of the gods _________________ Rust is lighter than carbon fibre! |

OK, The Pied Bull, Farningham this Friday it is for you and me Pete!
Seriously though you're right, it doesn't have to be a Wednesday.
And not necessarily on the bike, but something central would be good. _________________ So many roads, so little time.

Wagon and horses in Addlestone is a good pub.... Not much parking for bikes or cars but me and spike can walk there
It would be nice to get something regular up and running, as we don't seem to do the lunchtime meets etc regularly anymore due to people moving away or actually getting jobs!! _________________ Not man enough for an R1....... FZ1's are cooler anyway |

I'm down in Worthing, so most of the evening pub meets you're suggesting are too far for me. But if you have any runs/meets etc planned that are more southerly, I'll certainly make the effort to join up with you. _________________ Adventure before dementia. |

Not for Garry it isn't.
I think what we meant was an evening ride with a quick drink in the Black Swan (with Garry buying) and then a slow ride home. It's a very nice location, especially in the evening with a nice sunset.
Or the Blacksmiths Arms, Adversane? _________________ So many roads, so little time. |

that's still 144 miles round trip for a drink and a socialise vs 64 miles for me to Godstone and back and approx 90 for gary and approx 76 for loco ...still not even but a closer balance ( and ill bet Godstone has some nice summer evening views too) _________________ Rust is lighter than carbon fibre! |
