Did have 9 points for aaaaaaaages 60 thru a 40 limit and then 10 days later 122 on a 70 Limit ......both in an Audi Quattro (years ago) and get this.....by the same copper!!! boy was I pissed orf....only saving grace was that the 2nd offence was while running an overdosed Alsation Puppy to the vets so I just floored it and let him chase me for the 3 miles to the Vets car park .....total fines of £60 Banned for 14 Days....and 9 points hanging over mah head for 3 years (I think)
Good job the Magistrate was a dog lover eh?

Yep......sadly passed away 2 years ago, at a ripe old age (for an Alsation) of 12 years old.
I have another one now.....I feel a 'Here's my Dog' posting coming on soon

Been clean since I was 17. God knows how, I drove like a lunatic when I was younger in mum's car. Crashed it enough too. Dunno how I kept a clean license with the bike either.
Should stay clean for a long time to come, seeing as I'm no longer in the UK and have no bloody bike or car!
Not sure how the US system works, I think you just get fined, and I work on Fed land, and if the Park Police catch you speeding it's twice the fine of normal speeding tickets. Bastards. _________________

Got 3 points in August 2002 but I think they've been removed now so I have a clean licence. I was caught doing a massive 39mph in a 30 zone and Scottish plod took great delight in jumping out from behind a hedge with his hairdryer and then writing me a ticket. Fair dos, I was speeding though. _________________ Mini Cooper S |

Out of interest, how long did it take to come through - a couple of ppl here were expecting something similar from a rideout a month ago... _________________ If the phone doesn’t ring, it’s me... |

I thought the general rule of thumb was if you have not heard within 2 weeks you are OK _________________

As far as I know, the legal requirement is within 15 days from the offense being committed. _________________

Section 1 Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988 (edited) " NO person shall be convicted unless they have been warned of their likelihood of prosecution".
If not given the Warning Formula at the time then "Within 14 Days a summons for the offence be served upon them"
NIP - A written letter or Summons must be served on the offender within 14 days of the alleged offence to comply with the above, naming the time and place of the offence, the actual offence itself (including act and section) and sent to the address of the vehicles registered keeper. _________________ Speed Limits are Minimums and remember Opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one

It came through in just under 2 weeks. If you don't get a NIP in 14 days you're free unless it's a hand held and you're spoken to by the copper in which case you're fecked |

Still has to give you the warning formula or get an NIP within 14 days unless its a Fixed Penalty Notice _________________ Speed Limits are Minimums and remember Opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one
