Or....... adjust your speed on approach to said roundabout to match the conditions, i.e. red landrover approaching so I'll back off a bit till I can see what he's doing etc.............. |
Point well taken...also...ease my back foot up a little bit and squeeze on the front a bit more...
Regardless of my own errors there, from his driving after I think he was just a twat. He seemed to think that a landrover would fit down the inside of a motorbike further down the road...I'm sure it would fit too, just might kill someone in the process. _________________ You start the game of life with a full pot o' luck and an empty pot o' experience. Are these all bike related or are the car/bike/cycle ect?
not that it matters 12 in the first 2 months is still 12 to many. |
The 12 is a mixture of everything, the sad thing is that in some of the cases involving car occupants simply putting on a seatbelt would have saved a few of them. _________________ Speed Limits are Minimums and remember Opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one

What pissed me off is yesterday taking the afternoon off to go to see a Harley St specialist who DID NOT EXAMINE ME and went on to basically accuse me of faking symptoms with my hip
On the plus side, it should mean that I might finally get the agreed compo so far from the uninsured drivers 2.5 years ago... But if yesterday's "examination" is anything to go by I doubt I will see any compo for my injury _________________

Consider getting a second opionion - I think you might have the right to that if you complain to the insurers now? _________________ If the phone doesn’t ring, it’s me... |

I laughed off last nights near miss cycling home when a micra pulled out on me cause it was a relief not to hit it. But this morning a astra van pulls out on me, just missing my back wheel, as he did not de-ice the windscreen properly. Just ordered a hi viz jacket, as drivers have trouble seeing the three lights on the front and two on the rear. I have now accepted the fact that I will not be able to avoid a collision one day ! _________________ It's all down to quality of life ! |

Violence in the back of beyond
You would have only got done for smacking him one if you had caught him, hope it aint too sore and he trips over and gets decapitated by a passing truck, soon! _________________ Speed Limits are Minimums and remember Opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one

So true, however to what extent is reasonable force whilst defending yourself classed as to much!! for example if he had of smacked me in the mouth I probably would have smacked him back, if he was to come off worse than me would I be liable for a roasting from the judge? is it the decision of the arresting officer as to whether I was to be charged or are you bound by law to arrest the victor!
I dont condone violence at all but you stated above that he would have been done if he had of caught him. I can understand that you are no longer defending yourself if you actually ran after the attacker but would both parties be in trouble?
Just curious in case I get smaked in the mouth in the near future! _________________ If I want your opinion I will give it to you!!!! |

Me being cynical Skins, cos the country is fcuked!
Reasonable force is subjective, restraining him would be reasonable. Pasting him wouldn't be!
My advice, restrain him check for witnesses and cctv, if none present, pan the cnut! _________________ Speed Limits are Minimums and remember Opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one
