Wednesday was my first day back out on the bike on my own ...a sort of baptism of fire (or wind!) Had a couple of nasty gusts (one just as I was parking - historically, a 'high risk manouvre' for me ) but I think that staying upright despite the wind against the panniers on Wednesday, and in the rain today, has helped to get rid of some of the nervousness I was feeling on each of my two previous weekend practice rides. And the Easter trip to Cleethorpes should get rid of the rest. |

What has pi$$ed me off today?
Seeing the evidence of the Very Bad Thing that I did last night ...and I don't even have the excuse of being drunk as I was having a night off...
It involved a kitchen worktop and a still-very-hot frying pan
I'm really sorry |

I watched this a couple of weeks back, nasty bit of footage. The two lads were doing nothing, just standing there chatting. Totally unprovoked

I would love to see the death penalty bought back. Clear cut cases where there is no qustion of guilt then the guity person should be hung.
For some even this would be to good. |

It means somthing is amiss with his Internet Connection/Phone Line/ISP or something wrong with Google's connection (unlikely). _________________ "Those who understand compound interest are destined to collect it.

Yep, those round trip times are way way too long and are varying way too much as well. Just pinged the same address from work and was getting 18ms.
Have you tried a tracert and if so what are the results of that? Can sometimes give you a good idea where the problem lies so that you can use that info to beat up your ISP. |

twats on scooters
All over the place today!! i got haunted by two going to work, one was too busy trying to show off to the other, who will no doubt have had an accident by the end of the week
two more pestering me on the way home, both of them will end up a statistic i fear
fed up of the cunch of bunts, every day i have to put up with them in croydon; felt like slapping the idiot in the morning when he pulled next to me at the lights.... red does NOT mean 'rev your engine REALLLY LOUD to give me a headache and keep edging forward in a lame attempt to move slightly faster then a feckin granny on a bicycle when it goes green' Particularly when i then slow down for the next set of lights and you dangerously go past and pull in front of me, nearly flattening yourself against the back of the bus infront of me in the process... and then starting the process again, revving while stopped will not make you go faster!
if i had a camera mounted on my bike, the things i see in croydon every day would give matt and mouse enough arrests to earn them medals
[/end rant]

I remember a charming afternoon in Surrey - considerately overtaking a weaving Kappa-clad Chav on a Speedfight, only to have an empty Coke can lobbed into me mush as I went for the overtake.
Oh how we laughed. _________________ If the phone doesn’t ring, it’s me... |

Not peed off but a bit of mixed feelings.
Robert's applying to be a dog handler which is great and I'm fully supportive of him doing it. If he makes it through the paper sift, he'll have to do a fitness test.
There is only one date for the fitness test - 22nd April.
So, we'll have to cancel our Isle of Man holiday. While I can get the money back on everything else, we can't on the flights as it's not an emergency or death etc.
We won't know until 7th April whether he's through or not. I'm sure he'll get to the fitness round at least and really hope he succeeds in getting the post although he says there's loads of people applying and it's not over until the fat lady sings. What she's got to do with it I don't know
Anyway, if there's anyone interested in flying to the Isle of Man 19th - 26th April let me know and I'll give you the details of accommodation etc. It was approx £200 for the flights and £200 for the self-catering place. We were going to hire a car while out there - £72 for the week with Hertz. _________________ We are all born mad. Some remain so. ~ Samuel Beckett 1906-1989 |

They're at home but have to live in the garden in a kennel. It's not a pet but a working dog. Should be interesting. Don't know what the cat will make of it! Should keep other cats out of the garden though. _________________ We are all born mad. Some remain so. ~ Samuel Beckett 1906-1989 |
