Agreed. |
I think an element of this is time - some parents are not prepared to spend the time to cook a decent meal; convenience and peace being a couple of reasons.
Further, I believe that the people of Richmond are generally more likely to act as a family unit with support and encouragement for their offspring in terms of sport / exersize and nurturing. |
the time thing is bollox sorry, chicken nuggets or whatever other crap they east takes what 20 mins in the oven, I had a fresh chicken salad last night the chicken breasts took about 9 mins to do in me george foreman grill must junk food costs more then a healthier alternative and takes longer to cook, has been proven many times |
What about the preperation time? Ready prepared meals that just get thrown in the oven are easier to cook and quicker overall. If you bought pre prepared salad and chicken then you overpaid and then the cost factor comes back in.
Of course you will find specific examples, but in general I would say I am correct. A freshly prepared chicken curry can be significantly healthier than one in a can from Asda FFS. |
dude I'm not a food expert and I love my takeaways and junk food as much as anyone I could live on pizza, it has just been proven time and time again that it is just as cost effective to eat healthily and it's no extra work ,trust me i've tried it, as fot the time factor, make time, it's your health ffs if some of these people spent more time cooking better food and less time sat on their fat arses in front of the TV maybe they'd be a lot healthier! _________________ The Stevie Wonder of rideouts!

Agreed re the get up and do something. We are pretty much saying the same thing, perhaps I should have said use of time, rather than a quantum.
20 mins chopping up / peeling vegetables, preping the meat etc, or 20 mins watching Corri and/or smoking a tab whilst the Nuggets cook to please the kids? Same time, different usage. |

Who is blaming the kids here? I think we are all blaming the parents. Re the burning off what they eat - not necesarily true and besides it is also the chemicals and salts used in the processed foods that cause the problems. |

Perhaps we are just more open and honest when caught?
