Finding out that someone I grew up with died last week of a methodone overdose. Tragic waste of life, but a timely reminder of how shit my life would be if I'd continued in the same "social" circles into my twenties.

Sorry to hear about Dom, Biggus.

We've been looking after Ellie's pet rat, Phoebe. (Ellie's Biker-Spawn's girlfriend.)

Unfortunately, she died today. Crying or Very sad Really sad as she was so sweet.

Eat more pies thus compressing one's suspension sufficiently...

Or alternatively take "paddy's unicycle" to toe barrier - sorted Smile

Finding stress fractures around the rear mudguard where it mounts to the subframe. Tis only plastic, but cause for concern as i think my luggage system may have caused it! Sad

Frikkin Blind Car Drivers....

I was traveling home this evening past a school and saw a silver Ka preparing to pull out So I followed the advice of the Advanced Riders hand book...

It was a 30mph Zone so I slowed to around 20.....
I moved my Position to the near side of the Road.....
I watched the Cage driver as I approached....

I thought this guy had knew there was oncoming traffic as there was a Bloody Big White mercedes Van trying to drive up my exhaust so it was obvious that the road was not clear...

Lo and Behold, just as I come level with the Ka, the driver decides to floor his accelerator to move on to the road...

If I had done an Emergency stop I'd have been under his car but I (correctly as it turns out) Accelerated & Swerved to avoid the fast approaching bonnet and was missed by less than an inch.

When I got off my bike the car driver had stopped and jumped out of the Ka and was walking towards me screaming his head off saying that I had been speeding and he could not have seen me and crap like that

So Now the car driver gets out and starts swearing at me saying I was speeding and the near miss was my Fault .... Bear in mind, Im now standing by the kerb glowing like a Beacon still wearing my full Hi Viz Vest & Hi Viz waterproof trousers (albeit wit a possible streak of brown where i was sitting.

Thank God for Mr White-Van-man who jumped of his van and starts shouting at the ka driver telling him he was talking a lot of Bollocks because it was obvious he hadnt looked before trying to pull out like Lewis Hamilton

Honest, I thought I was going to puke when it happened and now Im really pissed off that Ididn't flatten the driver when he was out of the car trying to blame me..

No, that is a reason to be proud of yourself. Had you done so, no matter how tempting and justified, that would have brought you down to his pond life level.

Well done for keeping your cool. That in itself can save the day. I wonder why you didn't listen even more to your instincts - since you saw this situation coming - I know that is easy to say.
