The insurance company has offered sensible money for the ZX12 and they are paying the garage to take off all the trick bits (about £2000 worth) and return them to me in exchange for the standard parts - bit of a result Very Happy Although I would have liked the bike repaired as I really enjoyed riding it Sad

Anyone want to by a slightly scuffed used SHOEI X-Spirit Norik Abe replica going cheap Laughing - could be repaired by replacing it.

Out of interest, were all the "trick bits" declared to your insurer? If so did you have to pay extra on your insurance premium?

No they were not. I had no issue whatsoever, but I am insured with a decent company and certainly not the cheapest. Fortunately none of those bits were damaged apart from one CRG Lever. I do not believe they would have paid out any damage to any non-standard not declared. I may be wrong but if you do any mods and do not declare them they would have to prove that the mods had contributed to the accident taking place.

I'd declared my Johnson can to my insurer. Didn't make any difference to the premium if that helps.

I used to be able to do them Smile IIRC the trick is make sure your head is last out of the water which goes against your natural survival instincts.

230 miles of I80, I580 and routes 120 and 49. The latter being sheer bliss. No cars and approx 100 Harleys. Laughing

The temp was mid 80s once inland, no cloud and no wind.

i have to say the Harleys make a lot of sense out here. Speeding is frowned upon so 70 is a fair max.

No pictures 'til I am back, however.

A quick tour of Yosemite tomorrow and off to Carmel on Tuesday.

Laters.
