I've eaten it. One bar of Cadbury's Fruit & Nut and two plain chocolate Bounty bars, to be precise. NOT good for the prospect of getting into my leathers this weekend...

whislt following a 4 x 4 along the dual carraigeway that is footscray road i position myself just to the right of her so i can be clearly seen in both her rear veiw and side mirrors.......(smart thinking slappy i hear you say)
I then notice her annoyance being gesticulated at me ...hmmmm
eventually she moves over into the left hand lane ( which has been empty all along incidently) and i pass her in the correct manner , nothing outragious or crazy just ease the throttle open slightly and cruise past gesturing my confusion as i go.
at the top of the road we are both stopped by traffic ....i open my visor and state i didnt see her problem.
Now get this...her reply........." ITS A 40MPH ROAD I HAVE KIDS IN THE CAR AND YOU PUSHED ME TO DO 45MPH "

Shocked sorry?.....me and my 2 wheels pushed you to put your foot down in your 4 x 4 ? i dont think so ........it took you over a mile to work out you had an empty lane if you wasnt happy with me behind you ?
Allow me to educate you you silly bint.......i was merely making myself visible to you by ensuring my road positioning reflected me in as many of your mirrors as possible because as a motorcyclist i have to be aware that there are some people on the roads ignorant to our presence around them and they inevitably knock us off thankfully you are not one of these people and obviously saw me ...what you are dear is just as bad though because you see a bike and instantly think they are trying to bully thier way past you so you.....YES YOU....put your foot down and acuse us of causing you to do it .......NEWFLASH......DONT PUT YOUR FUCKIN FOOT DOWN JUST CHANGE LANES .

rant over

Locksmith got back to me today about the Dragstar key and said its a no-go Sad so what was going to cost £30 will now be £200 for replacement ignition lock and petrol cap (£75 for the petrol cap on its own! Shocked ) not a great deal in the grand scheme but its money that coulda been spent elsewhere Rolling Eyes

Fleabay no good for you? They often have bike breakers, and if you don't need a NEW petrol cap you might be able to pick up a second-hand one for less than £75

Venom, take the frame number and engine number to the dealers and see if they can trace the key number.

Dont know if the key barrel is removable from the fill cap, but if it is you may possibly locate the key number stamped on the barrel.

Just an idea.

Under 140 mph...

Hide behind sofa

Ok, more seriously...a bit of rubber on the plug will stick out, even after they cut it down. If it's the rear tyre, while that bits sticking out, best to take it a bit easy but once worn down to the tyre level, ride your normal ride.

If the front end, best to take it easy the whole way because if the front end slips, yer chances of FUBAR are a lot higher.

That advice brought to you by BMW. Wink

P.S. You can buy the plugs and do it yerself if you go to a BMW dealer. Not sure where your nearest one is, but the BMW outside Guildford sells them. They're about £20.

Got a txt from my ex early this afternoon... "Call Tina now" (Tina is my sister)

Naturally, I thought the worst ....mother.

Tried calling Tina several times but the phone was engaged. So, I tried Mum and it went to ansaphone. So, I called the General Hospital in Grimsby and asked whether my mother had been admitted ....she had ...and they would put me through to someone who could tell me more.

By this time I was getting very worried and close to tears.

But it wasn't THE call. Thank God!!

Still not good, though...

When they took her in (about a week ago but no-one knew I was back from holiday) she was paralysed in both legs and both arms. She has since regained some movement and feeling in one arm and is waiting to be transfered to Hull hospital for surgery as they don't have a specialist spinal neurosurgeon at Grimsby General.

If she survives the operation (she has a leaky heart valve and high blood pressure, so it will be risky) they have told her that there is very little likelihood that she will regain use of her legs.

After I spoke to the nurse at the hospital I got another txt from the ex... "Call Tina now its about your Mum" to which I replied "Cannot get through to Tina. Guessed it was Mum. Thought the worst. Called the Hospital. Mum is apparently cheerful." To which he replied "Tina is free now. Call her" (Yes - the stoopid idiot was telling me to call my sister urgently whilst he was actually on the phone to her himself, stopping me from being able to get through!!!!)

Can't decide now whether to drag the poor tired bike up to Grimsby for the weekend. It hasn't even been cleaned since it got back from Italy and it could do with some tlc before clocking up many more miles ...but I really aught to go and visit.... Confused

Yep, I'd go too. The bike can wait, you're mum can't.

Hope all goes okay - will be thinking of you.
