Sorry to hear that Lil mush, what did you do to get the summons?
Been through it myself and its not that bad, but it is very nerve racking waiting to be seen and then standing up in front of three magistrates all looking down at you... |

Managed to get caught on scamera 4 times within 12 months... (3 in car, 1 on bike)
Each time in the middle of night (or near enough), with no traffic, no pedestrians around, all in 30s... And I am not talking doing a ton here, it was more like 48, 43, 42 and 38!! I know I was breaking the LAW but it is very frustrating... I guess, that's what you get for using your common sense and adapting your speed to circumstances!
If I'm honest, I'm scared shitless but it will have to happen, so better get on with it... _________________

Ooops, sorry to hear that. Been through it myself 5 years ago and was banned for 2 weeks with a £450. Thankfully, I was off sick anyway so didn't affect work. Had to go to Norfolk for it. When the Magistrates went out to deliberate I had a panic attack!
Hope it goes okay for you or at least, is not too bad. Have you got a solicitor? _________________ We are all born mad. Some remain so. ~ Samuel Beckett 1906-1989 |

The woman's solicitors are holding to the 50-50 liability offer.
So, I've now got to instigate proceedings to take her to court.
Finding it totally unbelievable! |
WTF!!!!!
FFS what's wrong with insurance companies??
Am I right in thinking that the driver has been nicked for "Without due care and attention"??? If so they haven't got a leg to stand on. Insurance is based on "Balance of probability" and law is "beyond all reasonable doubt" therefore if the driver was found guilty of with care and attention then that makes your case very strong. |
Phoned the police today. The woman's been given a Drive CAC(?) referral where she has to do a 1 1/2 day course in lieu of going to court. He's given me the Accident Ref No to give to my solicitor. I phoned them this morning and am still waiting for them to get back to me. Will chase in a bit. _________________ We are all born mad. Some remain so. ~ Samuel Beckett 1906-1989 |

Ouch, sorry to hear about the summons Lil Mush, what a PIA. Hope you get the softer side of the book hit ya. Whatever they do it's going to hurt though I have heard people getting an option to do a speed awareness class instead of getting points. I don't think you'll be that lucky to get away with so many but maybe it could be an option your brief could work on. Good luck. _________________ It's not the speed of life that bothers me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

12 points = 6 month ban
I spose it's always possible that with a good brief and a damn good reason to need your licence you may be able to get off the ban. Mind you if you do that then you will have 12 points on your licence!
Bend over, lube up, and prepare to take it up the arse would be my advice _________________ The lunatics have finally taken over the asylum |

Car broke down on the way to work at 06:00.
Had to walk the rest of the way to work
The engine just cut-out for no apparent reason, thought first had run out of fuel,as the gauge has been giving spurious readings just lately.
However when I went to recover the car tonight, tried the ignition, started first time .
Have noticed that the oil filler cap is missing (car just recently service by garage, when it failed the MOT emissions test),and there is oil all inside the engine compartment, so thinking it may be linked to the poor performance I've also been getting recently.(the car not me ) _________________ “There comes a point in your life when you realise who really matters, who never did, and who always will.”

If you get a ban do the points come off your licence or do they remain for the 3 years etc ? _________________

If you get a ban, when you get your licence back, it is clean.
