Bulbs, chicks and laying are words that shouldn't be used together round here...
I'm mildly amused at the council. They've failed to record that they overcharged me by a penny on one of my council tax bills. So in effect they're saying I owe them a penny more than I actually do.
Now if I was actually behind by a penny, they'd harrass me for it to no end. It's sad, but I'm entertaining the thought of trying to extract a penny out of them.
Dun worry kids, I won't spend any of my own money on that lil project if I decide to give it a try. _________________ You start the game of life with a full pot o' luck and an empty pot o' experience. The objective is to fill the pot of experience before you empty the pot of luck.

No darlin', that implies she had the plot in the first place. _________________ You start the game of life with a full pot o' luck and an empty pot o' experience. The objective is to fill the pot of experience before you empty the pot of luck.

I too named our son's pet rabbit Stew. (he lived with a long-haired guinee pig named Pigwig)
On't subject of pet names.... ....if I ever got a dog I'd be very tempted to name him after my sister's friend's dog...
...Fido
...Only she spelt it "Phydaux"

Rescued a goldcrest from the pavement outside my office building in Hammersmith, of all places!
For those who CBA to google RSPB, they're Britain's smallest songbird, only about 3" long. They're on the Amber list too, as they don't tolerate cold winters very well; their numbers declined in the 1960's & never really recovered. This is pretty close to what he looked like:
Concussed from colliding with traffic or an office window, but otherwise uninjured, I scooped him up off the pavement. He was so tiny, I could easily contain him in my cupped hands!
Smuggled him into the office in my jacket pocket, made him a nice bed in a cardboard box & kept him in a warm, quiet corner of the office for a couple hours until he had fully recovered. Released him into a small park in a traffic-free, residential neighbourhood a few blocks from where I'd found him.
Had the great pleasure of watching him swoop artfully onto a tree branch above me, twitter a short song, then fly off. Result! _________________ "Take advantage of her being in a wheelchair while you can, mate - 'cos that's the only time you'll be able to push her around!" -Barry H |
