Getting told that disiplinary procedures have been started due to my recent poor attendance. Jeez
Obviously the previous 20 years with most years being zero absence don't count for FA |

That's crap. So short sighted of them. Are they doing a bit of head counting? Looking to get rid of people? Good luck with them. _________________ It's not the speed of life that bothers me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

what's the sickness trigger point at your work? and was anything a one off?? like the accident?? most employers will discount that. If not then insist on a referral to an occupational health specialist. There are plenty of laws that protect you, if you are in a union then seek some advice, if not then an employment specialist at the local CAB can help. |

If you’re working for a reasonable size company they should be working to ACAS guidelines. Therefore sickness is not a matter for a disciplinary process; basically you can not be sacked for being legitimately sick under a disciplinary policy assuming you have given in sick notes etc.
They can however take you down the Capability route, to access your fitness to do your job. Given your previous record this would not lead to you loosing your job assuming you will make a full recovery. _________________
