Yesterday was a very odd day. Tiny muffin had left her phone at West Wittering when we were there last week so me and my man went down to collect it. Only just got my helmet off when my phone rang - it was an employment agency calling me about my CV that I'd sent off in reply to a job the day before. The client liked what they'd read and wanted to see me, but was going to be away for two weeks. So I thought I'd have to travel to his other office to see him. No, that's not what they wanted, I was asked to go to Gatwick right away!

Consider this. I was at the beach. I hadn't washed my hair as I knew I'd have to get rid of the sand and salt after the beach trip - I didn't even have a hairbrush with me. I was wearing leathers, an old t-shirt and big clumpy bike boots. I had no idea how long it would take me to get from there to Gatwick but hey, give it a go!

So after rushing down my lunch I hopped back on the bike (didn't even have a paddle) and hoofed it towards Gatwick. One of the baffles fell out of my exhaust so when I got there I was on THE NOISIEST bike on the planet. Got there late, hot and sticky, scruffy, and had a really good interview.

It did make me smile, having around 160 miles more on the clock than in the morning, and fitting in a job interview in the middle.
