i dont think the point was to ever take people away from the training run, but if people couldnt make it to the training but wanted to go out for a bit, why not? people go at diferent paces and do diferent things, the more people there are, the more conflicting runs there will be.
i very distinctly remember a few times last year where there were a couple of runs posted on the same days at diferent paces, and it all worked out well

So when you want to look though the thread to see what bit of road made someone smile or what cock in an Audi pulled out and pissed someone off you have to go through all the crap that should be on Facebook. |

Yep totally agree! Facebook is for social bullshit! And yes im guilty of that, but thats what social networking sites are for!
The forum recently seems to have alot more moaning, negative attitudes, the hating of men. I thought biking is about freeing yourself, happy times and enjoying good old british lanes and pubs! |

the issue i have is that the whole way this has been done basicaly just creates an 'us and them' issue that its been made to sound like all the new people have ruined the forum for everyone, and this has been going on for a while.. all these things have been going on for ages, just the increase in member numbers has meant its cluttered the forum
if you have an issue with the amount of inane dribble, fine, but address it as that issue, not as an 'reclaiming the forum' which just makes it look like everyone has decided the recent members arent welcome and not worthy of being here.. which i believe is the point baloo was refering to when he said about people saying theyre better then others

i didnt say anyone has actually said it, but wether its the intention or not, thats sometimes how it comes across. i know thats not what people think which is why im trying to actually move this away from the back and forth acusations

Well I had great fun on here last night, and it's the first time in ages. I only planned to pop on here for a little while and ended up on here all evening. The posts, pm's and texts were making me chuckle constantly.
For the last few months I have come on here with all intentions of joining in, each time i've lasted about 3 or 4 threads before saying 'fuck this' and hitting the big X in the corner. And the last few months actually means about 9!!!!!
Recently I have only logged on to look at certain threads and i've not even bothered with all the other orange helmets.
I can't remember how long ago I started to get pissed off with the 'friends reunited' type bollocks (i'm bored of typing facebook). I can remember putting in "what's pissed me off" something like 'the way this forum is heading'. I dunno when it was and can't be bothered to look, but it was a while ago. I recieved a few PM's agreeing with me, so it wasn't just me that noticed.
Over recent months i've been asked by people on here why I haven't been on here very much, after explaining my reasons nearly all of them agreed.
Yesterday, the topic came up again, again most people in the conversation didn't the way the forum has changed, probably over the last year.
This used to be a fun place, there was plenty of banter, plenty of good discussions, lots of advice for people that needed any, about anything. Funny stories and the odd argument 
Now, it's not. Now it is a race to see who can increase their post count the quickest, and it's being achieved by posting BORING SHITE. Yes, there is still plenty of banter, discussions, advice, funny stories etc but you have to wade through loads of shite to find them.
After the enjoyment of last night I logged on here this morning to look for the obvious fallout and moaning which was inevitable, and what was the first thing I read? Something like "I'm not feeling well" "I only slept 15 hours last night"   I DON'T GIVE A FUCK

Read Ninjabob's post in the dribble thread and as for the rest, look at the majority of the posts in the dribble / knitting threads. Perhaps not blowing smoke up thieir own arses but certainly suggesting they are better people.
