Early morn. I did mine a week or so ago......sort of. Not that they needed it really, just fun to go for a blast with empty roads |

Arse # just found the Zed has a rear puncture, which is strange as I haven't used it since I lubbed the chain last weekend and it was OK when I locked the garage.
Mike from rubber ranch is coming over tomorrow afternoon, with Road/smarts. _________________

Hastings Direct... Having asked them if there would be an issue with lowering the bike yesterday before I bought the policy, and being told "I'm not sure but there shouldn't be - do you still want to proceed", I call up today to check only to find out that the insurer won't cover modified bikes and therefore I need to cancel. Does the cancellation team pick up? No... _________________ Baby Biker Babe!

I'd double check on that. Im not sure if lowering the seat would class as a modification that would affect your insurance. But then Im ready to be corrected _________________ Opinions are like assholes...... Ahhh Fcuk it - YOUR WRONG !!!

It does, apparently... because it's not just a lowered seat - it's longer rods which change the joint angle for the suspension (Biggus - is that right?!) and is therefore classed as a mod. _________________ Baby Biker Babe!

Ok, bad news is I've double-checked and the underwriter (AXA) won't cover a lowered bike as they are resistant to any mods at all. Good news is as I was misinformed by the broker yesterday, they are processing the cancellation without charge (I'd like to have seen them try!! ) and refunding my money.
Back to square one then! _________________ Baby Biker Babe!

Bloody crap situation with your insurance Jo, can't believe that insurance company's have got the ordacity to classify that as a mod. Not like it's increased power...more an alteration with safety in mind so you can get feet on the floor comfortably and aid riding position.
Hope you have some luck with Barry's suggestion _________________ Comfortably Numb

I'd just get onto the bank and get them to issue a new card, as you didn't make the transactions you shouldn't be liable for them. Just a pain in the arse. Know from experience as someone tried to extract £4k from my account. _________________ It's all down to quality of life ! |

The bank should sort all this for you and you should get refunded the full amount. The main issue is how long it takes to sort it out |

+1
Also experienced this and immeadiately went into Natwest who put my card on somesort of increased security watch whilst they checked it out. Was worth it too as about 2 hours later they called me up asking if I'd just made an internet hotel reservation, which I hadn't, so they then stopped that, cancelled the card and sent me a new one.
Was quite impressed by them (Natwest) actually, no real work by me apart from the initial, they took over and ran with it. |
