Yep......sadly passed away 2 years ago, at a ripe old age (for an Alsation) of 12 years old.

Been clean since I was 17. God knows how, I drove like a lunatic when I was younger in mum's car. Crashed it enough too. Dunno how I kept a clean license with the bike either.

Should stay clean for a long time to come, seeing as I'm no longer in the UK and have no bloody bike or car!

Not sure how the US system works, I think you just get fined, and I work on Fed land, and if the Park Police catch you speeding it's twice the fine of normal speeding tickets. Bastards.

Got 3 points in August 2002 but I think they've been removed now so I have a clean licence. I was caught doing a massive 39mph in a 30 zone and Scottish plod took great delight in jumping out from behind a hedge with his hairdryer and then writing me a ticket. Fair dos, I was speeding though.

Out of interest, how long did it take to come through - a couple of ppl here were expecting something similar from a rideout a month ago...

I thought the general rule of thumb was if you have not heard within 2 weeks you are OK

As far as I know, the legal requirement is within 15 days from the offense being committed.

Section 1 Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988 (edited) " NO person shall be convicted unless they have been warned of their likelihood of prosecution".

If not given the Warning Formula at the time then "Within 14 Days a summons for the offence be served upon them"

NIP - A written letter or Summons must be served on the offender within 14 days of the alleged offence to comply with the above, naming the time and place of the offence, the actual offence itself (including act and section) and sent to the address of the vehicles registered keeper.

It came through in just under 2 weeks. If you don't get a NIP in 14 days you're free unless it's a hand held and you're spoken to by the copper in which case you're fecked

Still has to give you the warning formula or get an NIP within 14 days unless its a Fixed Penalty Notice Smile
