Tourist in a hire car then? I think they should be identifiable by special designated number plates or something as they are in other countries so that we can give them a wider berth, or at least have the choice - L plates and "P" plates serve a similar purpose _________________

Not uncommon in Artex of days of old... leave it up and paint over and it'll do you no harm _________________

Are the ceilings artex, that has asbestos in? They are fine all the time they left alone, it's the asbestos dust so I wouldn't go removing it, you will need a specialised company to do that.
Have they accepted your offer, this could be leverage to reduce the buying price, get quotes for asbestos removal and ask for that to be taken off the price. If you are going to do that, get it done before you move in. Good luck with that. _________________ Comfortably Numb

It was on the A3 a few weeks back with a (certain lucky girl) near the robinhood roundabout. There is a layby 200 yards before it, london bound and they are sitting there for a few months by all accounts. They are also doing the soutbound on the same spot once they have knicked someone the other side! I was just leaving paying it as late as I could, I jad 28 days so gave it 25, that way they had to wait for their doughnuts _________________ Comfortably Numb

The survey just says 'the property has textured ceiling coatings. In properties of this age, such coatings could contain asbestos.'
The offer has been accepted, mortgage arranged etc etc, just waiting for the solicitors to do their bit and agree a completion date.
My understanding is that as long as we don't mess with it, it will be ok. Hmm, might go back for a second viewing and check the condition of the ceilings. _________________
